Full credit to a team of individuals made strong through passion, teamwork & heartfulness...
Amidst lush rolling hillsides and prime sheep and beef country, there is a vibrant cluster of buildings at the northern end of Te Kuiti. This is home to Shoppington and a number of other innovative rural businesses.
Shoppington began as a small, owner/operated retail boutique in 2003. Originally named 3G Teak, the name was selected to brand an ideology - three girls, three generations and three goals. The three girls were the original business exploratory team - Kim Fagan, her mother Carol and her daughter, Tamara who was just six months old when the business started.
The three goals are:
- To provide a business opportunity for Kim to extend and utilize her business skills and provide an income for her to support her young family;
- To provide an opportunity to engage in travel to interesting locations and enjoy developing handmade products; and
- To develop a successful business venture that enhanced the economic and sustainable development of the Waitomo district.
Our complex is open 7 days a week and we pride ourselves on offering unique and affordable gifts for the home and garden. Our range is carefully selected based on design and quality offering a selection of New Zealand's finest arts and crafts. These include homewares, giftware, outdoor water features and garden pots, kids toys, jewellery, fashion and NZ art.
Shoppington, as it has become known today, is credit to a team of some very special individuals made strong through passion, teamwork and heartfulness. Shoppington is a destination, a way of life, a place to connect. Built on strong core values, our story is not one of overnight success. Our story is one of innovation, commitment and a journey of self discovery, learning and growth.
